Bridesmaid Love

Recently my boyfriend’s mum showed us the pictures from her beautiful 1970’s wedding as it was their 33rd wedding anniversary. One thing that stood out to me was the bridesmaid’s ensemble – in a word, it was iconic.

The bridesmaids wore powder blue dresses in a style not dissimilar from Little Bow Peep with cute white sandals. The outfit was completed with a parasol, white lace glove and a boater style hat in the same colour as the dresses. It truly is something that looks so impressive, and in this age of vintage and retro comeback, it is as relevant now as it was at the time.

This wedding was at the top of its’ game and this is evident from the “state of the art” 70’s photography style to the stylish suits and bridesmaids. And, of course, the bride was a vision.

So in light of this retro 70’s inspiration, I’d like to share some equally inspiring images for a 70’s vintage feel.

Hope this whets your appetite for the retro photoshoot I have done with the lovely Emma of Emma B Photography only this week, which will be featured on here in a couple of weeks. Until then, relax and feel the retro love inspired by some fashionable bridesmaids close to home.
