Paid in Beans!!

The time has finally come for me to tell you about my first official event as Perfect Choice Planning - excited :o)

Mark's "Fabulous" Manchester Birthday Party

On Saturday 30th July 2011, Mark and 4 friends jumped in a cab from his Manchester flat ready for a “fabulous” night out for his 24th birthday, joined later by more friends! I was the official planner for the evening, and with him being one of my best friends I was happy to do it for free!
Mark with his cupcakes & BIG bottle of bubbly!
Mark chose a theme of fabulous to set the whole night by; the dress code, the restaurant, the bars, even down to the [handmade] cupcakes, supplied by Rocky Road Cakes and a separate homemade cake as my present to him.

Ready to be let loose in Manchester
The itinerary for the evening was a reserved table at a “fabulous” little bar, Tribeca followed by a “fabulous” meal at Nossa Casa (vegetarians beware!) and many “fabulous” drinks at bars and clubs of the birthday boy’s choosing. Living in Manchester, he knew where he wanted to go, so I just facilitated the timeline!

Mark loved having his friends with him in Manchester to celebrate his birthday
Me and the birthday boy
I have to say, it truly was a brilliant night out and, judging by the state of the birthday boy the morning after, he thoroughly enjoyed it too. The next morning, whilst severely hung over, we were treated to a full English fry up, cooked by Mark himself.

This was my first official event as Perfect Choice Planning and it was great fun. Mark was great as my Manchester Expert, the restaurant was really accommodating as well as delivering exceptional food and everything ran according to plan.

Here’s what Mark had to say:

Why did you choose “fabulous” as you’re theme?

I chose “Fabulous” as my theme because I wanted a night that was special and a bit different from the normal fancy dress, etc themes you normally see.

Was there anything about the night that stands out in your memories?
Having a great time with my friends!

What was your favourite part of the event?
Great food! and dancing in Mojos!

What was the best planned part of the evening?
The pre drinks at my flat, then Tribeca and the meal at Nossa Casa.

So the entire beginning then?! hehe

If you could do it again, would you change anything? (i.e. where we went, timings, etc?)
If I could do it all again I would think about the plans ahead of time and book further in advance so that we could start by having pre-drinks at the Sky Bar, Hilton. They do book up months in advance!

How did you find the pre-event correspondence with the planner?
It was very thorough and useful in helping me when deciding on venues and the theme.

Would you recommend Perfect Choice Planning? And if so, why?
YES! I have already recommended her, because Laura's enthusiasm and attention to detail is second to none!

And finally, how would you sum up the evening?
Fabulous! It was great to have good food, nice drinks, brilliant company and I enjoyed dancing the night away with great friends.

Like I said, Mark is one of my best friends so I wanted to so this for him to show him my appreciation of what a great friend he is. I didn’t want, expect or ask for payment for this event, I just wanted to make him happy and bring his Preston friends to Manchester for a great night out, but Mark did get me a little thank you present in the form of a single red rose and beans, Jelly Belly Beans – my favourite!
Me with my payment! (Not the best picture of me by far!)

  2. Thank you so much! You words made me so happy - a warm fuzzy feeling :o).
Nossa Casa was delicious - I advise try everything that comes round; the waiters are very accommodating and will cut you a little or lot, and if there is anything you really enjoyed, you will be able to ask for it again at the end!
